I still don't understand why they burn. Is it the owner that didn't do the maintenance properly or some weird defect that is still unknown?

Lots of heat in the engine compartment most likely due to driving the car in traffic for prolonged time with out getting enough airflow to the radiators to cool that motor down. Thats my best guess.
